Sewing workshops are run by Catherine Marshall.
Catherine started sewing at the age of twelve and has made all her own clothes since then. She then went on to Leeds College of Art and Design and completed a B-Tec in Fashion & Clothing. She then went onto study for a BA hons degree in Consumer Services Management specialising in Clothing at Leeds Metropolitan University. Further to achieving her degree, she then obtained a PGCE in Design Technology which led onto becoming a teacher of Textiles. She taught in Secondary schools for 10 years and continues to work for AQA examining and moderating GCSE and A level Textiles. Now in the purpose built Sewing studio Catherine teaches workshops to people with all different levels of sewing ability. Running beginners sessions and one off courses, 10 week courses covering a range of soft furnishing items or dressmaking courses. The evening classes are taught in greater depth in half termly modules and run for the course of a year (September-July.)
